Luster Custom Homes & Remodeling’s project in the private country club community of Mirabel, in Scottsdale, took top honors with two awards in the 2015 Best in American Living Award, announced at the International Builders’ Show in January.
The home received the top accolades and the project was named “Home of the Year” and secured a platinum award in the custom home category for projects 4,501-6,000 square feet. The BALA annual awards are hosted by the National Association of Home Builders.
The 5,385 square foot, single-story home features a hacienda-style design with sweeping views and a floor plan that encourages family togetherness and outdoor living, according to a press release. Featuring four bedrooms, and five and a half baths, an open floor plan allows for the living room, dining room, and kitchen to flow into one central space overlooking the golf course.
Long adjacent hallways lead to the private quarters while expansive glass doors open to connect the indoor and outdoor living spaces. The centerpiece is an infinity-edge pool that appears to drop into the desert and when the water is still, becomes a beautiful mirror that reflects the sky.
BALA judges selected the home as the best custom home of the year because of its well-defined, yet open spaces, and graceful, serene and elegant characteristics. The judges were particularly impressed by the clean lines and scalloped arches used throughout the design of the home.
