Artful Autumn Décor

This Thursday, September 22, marks the first day of Autumn. While here in Arizona we may be only just barely noticing the temperatures decrease, it’s never too early to make it feel like fall in your home. Here are some great, yet simple ways to celebrate the start of the season by switching up your home décor.

Spicy Fall Scents

One of my favorite ways to get in the fall mood is by switching out my fruity summer candles or wax burners for a warmer, spicier scent. Whether you opt for candles, incense, wax burners, oil reed diffusers or even potpourri there are tons of scent options to get your home feeling like fall. One of my favorites is this Pumpkin Chai candle by NEST Fragrances.

Wreaths

Hanging a wreath made from warm colors is a great way to change up the décor in your home and get ready for fall. Place it on either a door or wall for a fresh change for the season in any room. I absolutely adore this fall wreath from Kirkland’s.

Pillows

Adding seasonal accent pillows to your couches is a quick, yet cute update. The best thing about adding accent pillows is that there are so many available to choose from that you should be able to find any color or design to accent your home’s décor in a sophisticated way. I love this watercolor pumpkin pillow from Pottery Barn to get in the fall spirit.

Gourd Arrangement

Tons of craft and home décor stores sell mini pumpkins, gourds and other assorted plants in warm fall colors. Using these to fill bowls, large dishes or glass containers is a great way to decorate an entry table, an end table, a coffee table or even use as a centerpiece. This pre-made harvest filler mixture from Kirkland’s is a quick and easy option, but you can let your creativity flow by creating your own.
