Rihanna even tweeted a picture of herself getting an IV drip of what she called the “party-girl drip.”

So, what’s in the drip?

It’s a solution of vitamins and minerals called a Myers’ Cocktail, invented over 30 years ago by Baltimore physician John Myers. It contains magnesium, calcium, various B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, and B12) and vitamin C.

The vitamins are typically given in larger doses than are present in vitamin pills.

IV Therapy can also prove effective in increased sports performance and recovery after training or from sports injuries. Detoxification from impurities in your system can also be achieved with the assistance of IV Therapy.

A good example is the use of Vitamin C when trying to get over a cold due to viral infection. IV therapy also referred to as nutrient therapy involves delivering high doses of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and anti-oxidants directly into the bloodstream. This approach allows for the rapid absorption of nutrients in order to provide effective relief of symptoms. IV therapy provides patients with essential nutrients to provide energy, improve cellular function, enhance recovery and boost immunity.

I have been getting IV therapy for the last couple months from, “The Drip Room” located in Scottsdale, AZ. I have tried a variety of drips but mainly started treatment to prevent from getting sick. My personal faves are the detox drip, which helps to lead heavy metals and mercury out of the blood. And the weight loss drip, which contains 3 types of metabolism boosters and appetite suppressants. But there are many types of drips that can be customized to what you need. I chatted with the owners Ross Cobb and Shirley Kelly and Kelly mentions that, “Many people aren’t aware of the benefits of IV Vitamin Drips. We tend to think of our health in terms of being sick or not sick instead of feeling great. IV Vitamin Drips help us get to the next level and keep us feeling great by combating the modern day ailments of a busy lifestyle.” -Shirley Kelly RN, BSN
