I just read this quote by J.Lo’s trainer, Gunnar Peterson: “There’s never a workout you’ll regret doing, but when you skip a workout, there’s always the chance that you’ll wish you had gone.” So true! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve hemmed and hawed about getting my butt off the couch and to the gym – Should I go to yoga? Should I not go to yoga? Should I go to boxing… – and eventually the above reasoning wins out. Never once have I regretted a sweat session. This got me thinking: How do you motivate yourself to workout when you’re not feeling it? For me, I remind myself of the energy jolt I get after a great workout, and the mind-clearing effect. Exercise is my medicine. It’s like pressing the restart button on my body and brain. But what about you?
