New High Tech BlackBerry Phones Arrive

 
 
 

The much-anticipated release of the new BlackBerry phones have finally reached national carriers.

BlackBerry Bold and Torch smartphones will be officially released by AT&T and Sprint on Aug. 21 and by Verizon on Aug. 25, the LA Times reports.

AT&T’s Torch 9810 will run on the carrier’s 4G LTE network, featuring a slide-out keyboard and a 3.2-inch touch screen with higher resolution and more memory, however a price is yet to be provided.

The BlackBerry Bold 9930 and BlackBerry Torch 9850 will also be available from Sprint on its 3G network. The Bold – Research in Motions’ (RIM) thinnest phone – will be sold for $249.99 with a 2-year contract, and the Torch for $149.99 after a $50 rebate and with a 2-year contract.

Like Sprint, Verizon will be selling the BlackBerry Bold 9930 for $249.99 with a 2-year contract on August 25.

Each of the new BlackBerry phones will run RIM's BlackBerry 7 mobile operating system that will be optimized for the various touch screens the phones will have as the newest version of the BlackBerry OS.
