To celebrate the anniversary of its 45th year in business, Copenhagen furniture will have a public reception on April 11th & 12th featuring Danish and European delicacies at its three store locations in Phoenix and one in Tucson. Erik Hansen, co-founder of Copenhagen in Phoenix opened his first store on the corner of Indian School and 7th Avenue in April 1970. Initially, the company offered furniture from Denmark and other Scandinavian countries and later expanded into contemporary furniture from around the world. Erik and his brother, Jorgen Hansen and Erik’s son Jens Hansen now own and manage six stores featuring contemporary and modern global design.

The consistently high quality of the furniture and its clean design have been a trademark of the Copenhagen name, but the secret sauce to its longevity is its outstanding customer service and its service to the community.  Says Erik Hansen, “Although much has changed since our humble beginnings, one thing remains constant, our passion for design and our commitment to our customers”.

In addition its anniversary celebration, Copenhagen will pull out all the stops to celebrate emerging design talent with its annual “Design Destination” campaign that showcases furniture designed by the world’s up-and-coming designers through full page advertisements and in-store promotions.  Hansen adds “We remain committed to building our business though the innovations of emerging talented designers from the U.S. and around the world”.
