One of the perks that many couples enjoy about getting married in Arizona is the ability to have your ceremony outside.  We have so many lovely outdoor spaces here that are available for couples to exchange their vows. From resorts to private homes the possibilities are endless! Designing your ceremony space can be so much fun and really reflect the style you are trying to create, whether it be traditional, modern or outside the box.

This canopy was brought in to help fashion an altar. The bride and groom wanted to have both Jewish and Christian traditions mixed in. The carpet of petals down the aisle paired with the couples monogram in rose petals make a perfect spot to become husband and wife.

Remember to build your ceremony space in combination with what is already there. For example, the beautiful stone banisters were accented with flowing garlands of hydrangea to compliment the garden feel. The aisle was lined with small flower arrangements (which we used again on the cake table!) and instead of petals down the aisle, dried lavender was used. Wooden benches were brought in for guest seating versus the standard chair. This ceremony was a perfect setting for the garden wedding the bride and groom wanted.

The backdrop of Camelback Mountain sets the stage for this ceremony.  By choosing a location that allows you to use the scenery is what makes getting married in Arizona so special! The aisle here is white flooring which simulates an aisle runner and contributes to the “wow” factor (plus, it makes walking down the aisle in heels much easier versus grass!).

You can use various types of items to accent a chair; here a touch of floral adds some softness.

For the ceremony below the couple chose to really personalize the location. The relic cross belongs to the bride’s family and was used as a backdrop for the spot where vows were exchanged. The custom hand painted aisle runner was created by The Original Runner Company out of New York.  Small additions like these really do add an intimate feel to your ceremony.

Whether you are getting married in a backyard, garden or grand outdoor space your ceremony is the first glimpse to your wedding style that your guests experience. Be sure to add some personal touches and keep in mind Arizona’s beautiful sun in the warmer months and our cool weather sunsets in the winter.
