National Black Cat Appreciation Day is August 17, and Lost our Home Pet Foundation is offering $17 off all black cats one year of older beginning Sunday, Aug. 14 to Saturday, Aug. 20.  Black cats due tend to stay at shelters longer because of people's superstitions about a black cat.  Meet the sweet, very good Killua, a one-year-old black cat who has been at the shelter for over six months.
