Ron Steege, co-founder and past president of La Casa Builders Inc., has retired and sold his interest in the Scottsdale-based custom home builder to co-founder, Tim Larson.

Steege, a resident of Scottsdale with wife, Jenn, was president of La Casa since its formation in 1991. While building some of the finest luxury homes in the Southwest, the two men also built a tradition of quality, integrity and honesty, with many clients returning to La Casa for renovation and maintenance and referring the company to friends and family.

Expert at hillside construction and golf course lots, La Casa built mid-sized to large custom homes in master-planned developments such as Silverleaf, DC Ranch and Desert Highlands in Scottsdale and on premium sites in Phoenix, Paradise Valley and Carefree.

Steege and Larson committed to green, or sustainable, building, early in the firm’s existence. The firm established itself adept in many styles: Mediterranean, Spanish Colonial, Tuscan, and Contemporary as well as fusions that realized their clients’ individual visions.

Steege will continue doing development work as an independent consultant and a partner in other ventures. Currently, he is working on a new luxury subdivision in Carefree, “Nighthawk,” which is scheduled for a marketing launch in the fall.
