TechShop, a workspace company that offers industrial tools and equipment to build projects for its members, has signed a Letter of Intent to open an 18,500 square foot space in Downtown Los Angeles and hopes to start construction of its new facility as soon as funding becomes available.

TechShop locations offer various services and programs along with different equipment and tools that facilitate work for anyone from engineers to designers along people with other skill sets. 3D Printing Services along with computer labs and laser cutters are part available to members of TechShop.

The new location would have its own parking lot, offering over 1,000 spaces to its members making it unique place to work since parking in Los Angeles is hard to find.

Although property owners and the City of Los Angeles has committed helping with funding, TechShop needs to make sure there is enough interests and support from the local community to ensure the success of a location in Downtown Los Angeles.

The eight existing TechShop locations have all been directly funded by individuals in the local communities they are in. The location in Los Angeles will also need local support in order to get the project started.

To support TechShop and their new venture, you can invest in TechShop stock, purchase a lifetime membership, making a donation or lending money to the company.
