Spearheaded by the Phoenix Police Department, the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, the Phoenix Fire Department and the United Phoenix Firefighters Association, the entire month of September will be designated as Superhero September at the Childhelp Children’s Center of Arizona. Throughout the month of September, members of the community, businesses large and small, and those who are interested in helping children, are encouraged to donate new and unused toys, school supplies, crafts, non-violent comic books and superhero costumes, and gift cards. The goal is to empower children who have been victimized by abuse so that they may begin to turn adversity into hope and inspiration.
