Calling all students and qualified applicants! Arizona Foothills Magazine and Azfoothills.com are now accepting applications for the following internship positions. Please read the below descriptions and follow the proper application instructions for each department. All applications must be submitted by Monday, August 17th at 12noon. 

Special Events and Communications Intern

Working toward a career in PR and event management? This internship gives students great hands-on experience in events related to AZFoothills.com and Arizona Foothills Magazine. Interns will assist in special event management and production including all AZ Foothills signature events like Face of Foothills Casting Calls and Finale Party, Best of Our Valley Bash, Women Who Move the Valley Luncheon, Dog Days of Summer Castings and more. Other events include local galas, fashion shows, luncheons, private parties VIP events, etc. Additional duties will include social media promotion, writing for AZFoothills.com, and some administrative work. Candidates must be friendly, personable, professional, and organized. Previous event experience a big plus. This internship may be taken for credit. Editorial Internship 

Working toward a career in magazine publishing? This internship gives students great hands-on experience in a magazine-making environment. Tasks involved include fact checking (20 percent of the time) and writing for both the monthly print publications, Arizona Foothills Magazine, and Web site, (80 percent of the time); all interns come away with clips. Two interns are taken seasonally (spring, summer and fall), with hours tallying approximately 20 hours per person. Candidates must be comfortable making phone calls and demonstrate a professional telephone/e-mail demeanor. This internship may be taken for credit (all interns must have completed their sophomore year). Online Editorial/Social Media Internship 

Working toward a career in online editorial or social media managing? This internship allows writers and creative minds to learn the ins and outs of online editorial and effective social media. Tasks involved include online feature writing, social media planning, and photo taking (for social media purposes). All interns come away with clips. Two interns are taken seasonally (spring, summer and fall), with hours tallying approximately 15 hours per person. Candidates must be comfortable making phone calls and demonstrate a professional telephone/e-mail demeanor. This internship may be taken for credit. Tucson Ambassador Internship

This internship gives students great hands-on experience in promotions and events related to AZFoothills.com and Arizona Foothills Magazine. Interns will assist in special contest and promotions management for the Tucson market including AZ Foothills signature contests like Face of Foothills and Best of Tucson. Other coverage includes local galas, fashion shows, luncheons, private parties VIP events, etc. Additional duties will include social media promotion, writing for AZFoothills.com, and some administrative work. Candidates must have a strong connection to the Tucson market and broad knowledge of the best people, places, and things to do in the area. Candidates may either be a U of A student or ASU student originally from Tucson. Qualified applicants must be self-motivated, professional, organized, friendly, and personable.
