Glendale's newest retail store is making waves not only from their reliable products, but their community involvement and charitable giving. The Container Store's 70th location opened early February with a bang -  donating $14,500 to the Arizona Humane Society from a percentage of their opening weekend sales.

“Partnering with an organization like the Arizona Humane Society is an incredible honor for our company,” said Vice President of Stores, Training & Development, & Recruiting for The Container Store, Eva Gordon. “They are truly invested in the entire Arizona community. We couldn’t have found a better match – and it’s an organization we know that our customers and employees are passionate about.”

That Saturday’s Grand Opening definitely created a buzz as the place to be with 100 shoppers outside the store in anticipation of the doors opening. The first in line was The Container Store's Glendale Super Fan, Janet Gerhart, who received her own gold shopping cart decorated with Super Fan flags and signs. Janet submitted the winning entry for The Container Store’s Super Fan contest that asked area customers why they considered themselves worthy of Super Fan status.  In addition to being first in the store on Grand Opening day, her Super Fan prize package included a $250 gift card, a box full of products from The Container Store, her own crown and sash to wear on Grand Opening Day and an invitation to the Private Preview Party on Thursday evening! The weekend continued with thousands of customers filling the store to be amongst the first to shop from Glendale’s hottest new retail store!

The storage and organization retailer’s 22,000 square foot store filled with 10,000 products to organize every area of your life provided the perfect backdrop for a Private Preview Party on Thursday, February 5th in collaboration with Arizona Humane Society supporters.  Around 1,300 guests enjoyed perfectly chilled champagne and lavish hors d’oeuvres from Santa Barbara Catering, all of which were served out of The Container Store’s products, and they danced to music by Shining Star Band
