Beer Donkey med rez 768x1024

Celebrating the spirit of Mexico with pride, colorful décor, flavorful food, music – and for fun, a beer donkey – La Hacienda is spicing things up for Cinco de Mayo with a party on the plaza, Monday, May 5, 2014.

Recently named the #1 Mexican restaurant in Arizona by AZ Business Magazine for the third consecutive year, La Hacienda is creating a Cinco de Mayo fiesta marketplace with strolling mariachis, a street-style taco cart, a guacamole sampling station, churros fried to order, twinkling lights, streamers of Mexican flags, piñatas and the plaza fountain lit in red and green.

Celebrating is also about sipping, and there’s no shortage of south-of-the-border spirits with 240 selections of tequila presented by Tequila Goddess Abeer Besharieh, who will also offer tequila sampling in the plaza.  Mija, the resort’s beer burro who sports a miniature sombrero, totes a variety of Mexican beer in her satchel and happily poses for photos from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. (In fact, she loves being tagged on Facebook)

In addition to the Cinco de Mayo fiesta marketplace, La Hacienda will serve its regular menu in the restaurant.

La Hacienda is located at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess at 7575 East Princess Drive in Scottsdale.  Admission to the Cinco de Mayo celebration and valet parking are complimentary.  Advance reservations are required for dinner and are available by calling (480) 585-2694.
