Copenhagen Imports, the Valley’s premiere showroom for Danish Modern furnishings, will kick off the Chair-ity Project to benefit the local chapters of Habitat for Humanity this March.

Twenty five artists from Phoenix and fifteen from Tucson are set to participate in the project. Each will create a one-of-a-kind artwork using an identical molded plywood and chrome chair. The artists are free to paint, saw, weld or transform the chair in any way they like and their work will be displayed in Copenhagen stores for viewing and voting. The chairs will also be available for bidding in an ongoing silent auction with cash prizes awarded to artists with the highest vote and bid.

The project and silent auction will conclude in an evening party held at the Phoenix and Tucson stores on March 21, 2014 at 6:00pm where the final bidding on the chairs will take place. The party will include drinks, hor d'oeuvres, and is free to the public. One hundred percent of the proceeds raised from the art project will benefit the Phoenix and Tucson chapters of Habitat for Humanity.

The chairs are scheduled to be displayed in stores on the following dates:

Copenhagen Tempe, March 1-6. 2346 E. Southern
