EXTRA! EXTRA!

We will never forget those piercing blue eyes of Ronan Thompson, a young boy from the Valley who died last year from nueroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer. After tonight, we will be given an anthem for him as pop and country mega-star, Taylor Swift, will take her songwriting to a whole new level during the first-public performance of the song "Ronan" (dedicated, of course, to Ronan Thompson) for the "Stand up to Cancer" telethon.

According to the Huffington Post, "Swift wrote the song after reading the blog of Ronan's mother, Maya Thompson, who is credited as a co-writer." Maya Thompson's raw and emotional blog retells the story of Ronan and his fight against cancer. Maya continues to blog about her daily struggle of life and is determined to beat childhood cancer once and for all.

Swift will perfom "Ronan" tonight on all major networks and cable channels. The song will be available on iTunes with a portion of the proceeds being donated to cancer-related charities.
