The mission of the Great Green Business Search is to promote the Valley’s green economy shining a light on promising ideas from local clean/green tech entrepreneurs, and singling out sustainable businesses for their leadership in key sectors of Arizona’s economy.
Who Can Participate?
Startup businesses –Arizona startup companies in the clean/green tech sectors that have raised less than $1 million in financing will compete for the title “Green Business of the Year 2013 Startup Business”. Entrants will participate in The Pitch Contest. Arizona startup companies in the clean/green tech sectors that have raised less than $500,000 in financing can additionally participate in The Pitch Preparation Program. Each company will be given a training session in advance of the completion on pitching in front of professionals. Registered entrants can display their technologies or business models at the April 25th Showcase event
Existing businesses- The Existing Business category will compete for the title “Green Business of the Year 2013 Existing Business—Products” and “Green Business of the Year 2013 Existing Business—Service.” This category is for companies with at least 2 FTE’s and at least one year as an established, revenue generating, Arizona company. It does not have to be identified as operating in a clean tech sector as identified by the Department of Labor (although it can be), but rather is competing for leadership in Arizona for pointing the way to a more profitable industry through its sustainable practices or innovative strategies for creating green jobs locally. Registered entrants can display their technologies or business models at the April 25th Showcase event.
