This sports medicine course is offered to both licensed acupuncturists and acupuncture students to build a stronger foundation of anatomy, kinesiology, assessment and treatment protocols. Sports Medicine Acupuncture incorporates principles from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Western Sports Medicine to view the patient's injury from a truly integrated perspective. The TCM practitioner will learn how to assess crossed syndromes through postural alignment, manual and muscle length testing techniques, to treat particular channel correspondences that contribute to crossed syndrome postures, diagnose and treat some common musculoskeletal injuries that are associated with these postural distortions such as thoracic outlet syndrome and low back pain.
