Description

"Concerts Under the Stars" At Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort Kicks off 2017 with Two Upcoming March Concerts, "Live From Laurel Canyon" and Esteban with Teresa Joy.

Continuing its 30th Anniversary Celebration, on Saturday, March 4, 2017, Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa will present “Live from Laurel Canyon.” Featured artists are Brian Chartrand (acoustic guitar/vocals/originator of LFLC), Kip Fox (acoustic guitar/vocals), Meridith Moore (vocals), Adam Armijo (electric guitar), Alex Kyhn (bass), Shea Marshall (keys) and Todd Chuba (drums) performing the songs and stories of American Folk Rock. It is more than a tribute, but a 90 minute journey through a very special time in American popular music that pays homage to the musical legacy of Laurel Canyon. This was a time that defined a generation and whose relevance transcended and influenced generations to come.

Many aspiring and successful musicians took up residence in Laurel Canyon, located in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles. Some of these musicians redefined American popular music and inspired the “LA Sound” of the early 70’s. The concert features the music of some of the finest singers and most well versed musicians in the country from the Mamas & the Papas, the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, the Doors, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Neil Young, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, America and the Eagles to many other influencers from the 60’s and 70’s. This journey will follow these legendary artists and share stories on how they ended up in the Canyon and how this neighborhood of like-minded artists vastly influenced the music that was created.

The second “Concert Under the Stars”, Saturday, March 25, 2017, presents the worldfamous flamenco guitarist, Esteban. Back by popular demand, he will be playing with his daughter, Teresa Joy on violin, and his full band. Having studied in Spain with the master guitarist, Andres Segovia, Esteban takes those classical techniques to another level. This is a must-see-fan favorite with music and stories that will inspire and stir the passion of the soul. The sunset concerts will be held “under the stars” in the resort’s signature Fountain Court, set against the backdrop of the McDowell Mountains.
