Description

Mission

To celebrate Jewish life and learning in all of its diversity by bringing together Jews of all backgrounds and all ages for learning experiences. We are driven by the belief that diversity of perspective, dedication to learning in its broadest sense, and a strong sense of volunteerism are keys to mobilizing and inspiring Jewish individuals and community.

Learning

To nurture and support people in their Jewish discoveries, providing them with informal mentoring and educational experiences.

Community and Diversity

To provide a wide variety of Jews with numerous points of connection to Jewish life, including intellectual, spiritual, emotional, familial and communal.

Volunteerism

To foster a strong volunteer corps who, through planning and participating in our events, experience the power of volunteerism by building Jewish identity and community.

What you can expect from your day at Limmud AZ

“Limmud” means “to learn.” It is a one day celebration of Jewish life and learning!

We bring together Jews of all backgrounds and ages for learning experiences. The day will be divided into individual sessions. There will be multiple programs with different presenters on many topics to choose from during each session. Most people will probably attend six sessions throughout the day. The great thing is that you can choose to participate in a session about Israel and then choose something about Jewish art another session. There will be a very wide range of subjects! Please sign up for our e-newsletter and you will get updates about the presenters as we book them.

We will all break for lunch at the same time. A delicious Kosher lunch will be served and there may be some activity during lunchtime, too. There will also be snacks available throughout the day because we want to be sure that everyone eats enough!

The best thing about your day at Limmud AZ is that you will interact with a diverse group of Jews from our community who are all there to share in this exciting learning experience. It’s a great time to meet new friends and learn new viewpoints. The key to building community is understanding and respecting our similarities and our differences.
