We love the Sanctuary, and we want to congratulate them on this recent win. Stop by the resort until end of year to get a taste for yourself!!
Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain’s consummate barman Jason Asher will add GQ cover model to his dossier this December as the winner of Bombay Sapphire & GQ’s Most Inspired Bartender 2010. Asher, whose cocktail concoctions have made Sanctuary’s jade bar a Scottsdale hot spot, took top honors in the final round of the national competition with an inventive beet and yuzu gimlet with watermelon ball garnish. The inspired concoction will be available at Sanctuary from Oct.-Dec. 2010, for those that wish to make their own critique.

Asher was singled out from an impressive pool of movers, shakers and stirrers on the national bar scene, including Kristen Schaffer of Las Vegas’ Rhumbar and Andrew Mirabito of The Cooper Square Hotel in New York, who placed second and third, respectively. His reward includes a highlight in GQ’s limited-edition December 2010 Men of the Year issue, and Asher will join Bombay Sapphire in 2010 to a variety of nation-wide events.

Now in its fourth year, the Bombay Sapphire and GQ Magazine’s “Search for the Nation’s Most Inspired Bartender” began with 3,500 competitors from across the U.S. Forty regional winners were then brought to Las Vegas for a final round August 29-30. Cocktails were evaluated on appearance, style, taste, aroma, accessibility, creativity and product knowledge by an esteemed panel of judges, including “The Modern Mixologist” and Iron chef challenger Tony Abou-Ganim, Liz Edwards of the United States Bartenders’ Guild, master mixologist Francesco Lafronconi, GQ style correspondent Brett Fahlgren and Bombay Sapphire brand ambassador Milo Rodriguez.
