While there is nothing like a home-cooked meal during the holidays, I’ll be the first to admit that all the prep and planning that goes into a Thanksgiving feast can be quite daunting. Enter the Wigwam Resort, which will be offering a family-style thanksgiving menu at Red’s Steakhouse come next Thursday. To complete the evening the resort will provide after-dinner carriage rides. And the best part? You won’t even have to do the dishes.

Featuring a menu of traditional Thanksgiving favorites, all served family-style in an intimate and cozy setting at the resort’s award-winning Red’s Steakhouse, Red’s Family-Style Thanksgiving Dinner delivers all the favorites of a holiday at home finished with a horse-drawn carriage ride through the resort’s 500-acre grounds in celebration of the Wigwam’s 80th year. Paying tribute to America’s most favored classic Thanksgiving dishes, from Virginia honey cured ham to sweet potato soufflé topped with toasted meringue and a caramel rum sauce, Thanksgiving dinner at the Wigwam offers a comfortable family-style setting for an unforgettable holiday with family and friends.

Red’s Family-Style Thanksgiving Dinner will be served from 12 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26, at Red’s Steakhouse at the Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa, 300 E. Wigwam Blvd. in Litchfield Park, AZ. Dinner is priced at $45 for adults and $20 for children 5-12, with children under age 5 free.

Dinner service begins with a cool autumn salad featuring baby spinach, friseé, candied walnuts, sun-dried cranberries and imported goat cheese, followed by a family-style service of Virginia honey cured ham glazed with sweet cinnamon and orange and Southwestern spiced turkey served with house-made giblet gravy and fresh cranberry sauce. Accompanying shared side dishes include a decadent focaccía and forest mushroom pan stuffing, sweet potato soufflé finished with toasted meringue and drizzled with caramel rum, roasted garlic and herb smashed potatoes and sautéed local farm green beans topped with pancetta and pine nuts. For dessert, enjoy a buffet-style offering of homemade pumpkin cheesecake, tart cherry pie, apple tart, traditional pumpkin pie, mini pastries and more.

After dinner, holiday diners are invited to enjoy an unforgettable horse-drawn carriage ride across the historic resort to kick-off the resort’s 80th anniversary weekend celebrations. Thanksgiving Day through Nov. 28, the Wigwam will play host to daily special events to mark its landmark birthday, including evening carriage rides and fireside s’mores and storytelling culminating with a photo journey presentation of the resort’s 80 year history, live entertainment and the Wigwam Annual Tree Lighting ceremony on Nov. 28. The tree lighting is a favorite West Valley tradition to kick-off the holiday season and will feature holiday caroling, treats and a visit from Santa.

Reservations are limited and can be made by calling 623.856.1018.
