Father’s Day may be over, but summer is a great time to get away with Dad or just plan a “mancation” with your son or your guy pals. BnBFinder.com makes it really easy to find unique things to do, so here is their list of manly getaways you might enjoy this summer:

Get Your Motor Running – Ah, the thrill of the race! Put dad in the stadium for a weekend of car racing at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca! Then let him sleep with the sound of the ocean outside his window at the Captain’s Inn at Moss Landing, central coast, California. Only 12 miles from the back gate of the raceway, this inn offers packages for Champ Car World Series, Grand Am Series, the AMA Superbike, and the Monterey Sports Car Championships. The race and room package includes two “3-day” admission and paddock passes to the race track.

Easy Rider – The sprawling ranch-style Brookside Mountain Mist Inn Bed and Breakfast, in Waynesville, North Carolina, has a Mancations Special that appeals to the Peter Fonda in all men. Rent a Harley and take a ride on the wild side down one of the most famous drives on the East Coast, “The Tail of the Dragon.” With hundreds of hairpin turns and an eye-popping view of the Smoky Mountains, dad needs to be on his game. Especially if he is going to take advantage of the guest privileges he can enjoy teeing off at one of the three nine-hole golf courses at the private country club this inn has arrangements with.

Fish Are Jumpin’ – Some dads dream of solitude: trout fly fishing in a crystal clear stream, the crests of the Sangro de Cristo Mountains towering in the distance, an occasional eagle soaring overhead. Whether a beginner who wants to catch trout on a fly rod, or an intermediate angler, the Martinez y Ewens Anasazi Ranch provides instruction and guided fishing for fathers that dream of experiencing the unspoiled and rustic high country of Penasco, New Mexico.

Daddy, Get Your Gun – Dads with itchy fingers can head on down to the scenic Atwood Lake Region of Dellroy, Ohio, for a guy getaway that features clay pigeon shooting. The Whispering Pines Bed and Breakfast gets you set up with discount coupons for shooting, fishing and even eating a juicy steak at the locals’ favorite bistro. Back at the inn, join the card game at the fire pit, and have a late night snack with the gang of guests on hand.

Your Dad is Smokin! – The secrets of a superb meat marinade are revealed by the skilled innkeepers/chefs at the Holladay House Bed and Breakfast in Orange, Virginia. Marinating, smoking, and eating a manly steak is only part of the fun of their Father’s Day Man-cation Weekend. The inn declares itself “frou-frou free,” and promises hungry man breakfasts laden with meat and cheese, meat smoking demonstrations, dinner with local micro-brewed beer and bourbon, and a list of outdoor activities to help work up an appetite. Arrangements for skydiving, golf, and other activities are easy to add to the weekend, or dad can just hang around the kitchen and glean more cooking tips to take home with him.

BnBFinder.com offers Father’s Day packages for Dad’s everywhere or let him plan is own getaway with a travel gift certificate.

Let me tell you all about the gorgeous spa at the Grand Velas All Suites & Spa resort in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. It’s an incredible 16,000-sq.-ft. facility, rivaling the best resort spas I have tried in the United States. There are 20 large treatment rooms, and the relaxation facilities are second to none. While of course your spa treatments aren’t included in the resort’s all-inclusive status, you really should treat yourself to a treatment, and spend the day lounging at the spa. It’s so worth it.

I signed up for the 80-minute Exotic Seashell massage, which is like a hot stone massage, but using smooth, warm seashells instead. My appointment was at 11am, but I arrived an hour early to take part in the guided Hydrotherapy Ritual. The ritual leads guests through the aquatic area in the spa, experiencing a hydrotherapy circuit, featuring a cool shower, sauna, steam room, jaccuzzi tub, hydroreflexology pool, cool plunge, and warm plunge, ending off with a glass of cool chlorophyll water or warm tea. The spa attendants lead me to a lounger, where I laid down and enjoyed myself as they places cold cucumber slices over my eyes. What luxury. By the time you are done this ritual, you are fully relaxed and in spa mode.

When it was time for my treatment, I was guided through the peaceful treatment room area to my own large room, where soft spa music was playing. The treatment began off the massage table with a relaxing foot scrub and wash ritual. Then, once the massage began, I was at total ease. The spa therapist was attentive and very good at her job. The 80 minutes went by quicker than I could have imagined – I even checked the clock to see what the time was and sure enough, 80 minutes had gone, just like that.

Now that my body felt like jelly, I decided to stick around the spa and laze away in the lounge chairs. I spent the next hour sipping tea and reading magazine – it was like a vacation from my vacation. When it was time to head back out to the sunshine and beach, I showered off and checked out of the spa, feeling good as new.

Be sure to make reservations for your spa treatment. I also heard that the couples massage is a real treat if you are looking for a nice way to spend the day with your sweetheart.

Upon arrival, guests emerge from a 1,000-foot private tunnel carved through the mountainside and are welcomed with a breathtaking expanse of azure sky and sea, introducing guests to an exclusive haven just minutes away from the lively appeals of downtown Cabo, yet seemingly worlds apart.

Ensuring that each resort guest’s desires are met will be a staff of Personal Assistants, a Capella brand signature, who can arrange everything from dining reservations to yacht excursions.

Capella Pedregal provides a secluded oasis for travelers, with just 66 expansive and beautifully appointed guest rooms that range from 600 square feet to a 3,000-square-foot Presidential Suite. Each guestroom – regardless of size – boasts a private plunge pool and exceptional ocean views that are unmatched in Cabo.

The resort’s centerpiece is the signature Auriga spa, a mystical and tranquil environment encompassing 10,000 square feet. The oasis boasts cave-like treatment pods, which float above a private pool giving guests direct access to the flowing stream of water from their pods. Open-air treatment areas make the most of Cabo’s ideal year-round climate and provide unobstructed views of sea and sky. The Julien Farel Cabo San Lucas salon suite with exclusive bridal areas, by Madison Avenue’s Julien Farel Salon, will provide unparalleled beauty and salon services, and expertise in a luxurious and pampering atmosphere. Rounding out Auriga’s impressive features are two deluxe couples suites with private tub and direct pool access; ladies and gentlemen’s active and relaxation areas; steam, sauna and ice rooms; a private spa pool; and a private 24-hour fitness facility, complete with personal training consultations. Auriga spas are known throughout the world for their authentic representation of local healing traditions, and Auriga at Capella Pedregal will be no exception with its treatments informed by Mexican folk healing practices, and integrative wellness programs designed to enhance the lives of each guest. A personal spa assistant may also be assigned to those guests who wish for a more inclusive wellness experience during their stay.

In addition to 24-hour in-room dining, guests will have a choice of three restaurants showcasing the culinary talents of Executive Chef Marco Bustamante and his team. Don Manuel, the signature restaurant at Capella Pedregal, will feature contemporary Mexican cuisine, while El Farallon will specialize in seafood specialties and other light fare in a dramatic al fresco setting suspended over the crashing waves of the Pacific. All-day casual dining will be the focus of the relaxed Beach Club. A native of the Per Se kitchen, Chef Bustamante first joined the Capella team for the opening of the brand’s first hotel, Schloss Velden, a Capella Hotel (Velden, Austria), whose restaurant earned the rare distinction of a Michelin star within six months of its debut.
