Spa Park City!

Usually three back-to-back days of skiing would have had my quads quivering, but due to some apres-ski spa treatments on both Saturday and Sunday, I was able to stay in good form.
On Saturday, while at Deer Valley, I was able to pop into the private Talisker Tower, the development’s on-mountain club house. The Talisker community at Deer Valley is an in credible assortment of living arrangements, from condo to multi-million dollar mountain estates, and the clubhouse matches the development’s lavish lifestyle.
But to experience how Talisker resident’s live when not on the slopes, I headed out to Tuhaye, the development’s golf component about 15 minutes away. Here, large estate homes have golf course and mountain views and the clubhouse here is larger than the Talisker Tower. Here is where the gorgeous little spa awaits.

Complete with hot tub and steam room (literally the most unique steam room I have ever seen─it repurposes giant boulders as seats), this spa is everything a luxury day spa would be, just toned down to a private club size. However, the details and design here are probably actually much more than the average day spa presents. Tile work, art work and plush furniture are some standout features, and things like the domed brick ceilings it the treatments rooms are unique.

I had the Soothing Sport & Herbal Poultice treatments, which is a lovely massage (it totally saved my muscles) with the additional use of a poultice, which is like a giant warm tea bag that is pressed into the joints. My experience at Talisker and the spa was that of pure luxury, reflective of what the community stands for.
On Sunday I was so lucky to be able to relax at Hotel Park City’s fabulous spa. Like at Tuhaye, this boutique-size spa is potent on the pampering but private and intimate. The treatment I had here was called Pure Indulgence, and at 110 minutes, it surely was.
The treatments starts with a body exfoliation, then a mask and body wrap. While all snuggled in the wrap a soothing scalp massage takes place. Then something unique: I was unwrapped and lead to a warm jetted tub (120 jets) where I was to soak for about 15 minutes mid-treatment. I swear, this is what made my muscles relax and left me totally able to ski the next day. After a leisurely soak, I was already feeling indulgent, but a full 50-minute massage was the next installment of the service. Needless to say, I left feeling like a jelly, both in mind and body.

The Spa at Hotel Park City offers a huge range of treatments, but I say go big or go home and opt for the Pure Indulgence.
