Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Now that turkey day is upon us, it’s time to start thinking about our winter vacations. We love the Hilton Waikoloa Village (in fact, one of our editors just visited this paradise in October) and think its a great plkace to take your family for the holidays, especially because of all the special events they arrange. Read about holiday activities here:
The resort kicks off the holiday season with a little Hawaiian flare, beginning November 27 when the traditional Legends of the Pacific Luau transforms into a holiday celebration. Guests are entertained by an authentic Polynesian style hula and fire dancing while enjoying the tastes of home during a traditional holiday meal.

Hilton Waikoloa Village will host more than 100 Big Island crafters for the 15th Annual Na Lima Hana Craft & Collectibles Fair Nov. 28 – Nov. 29. The fair will showcase unique Big Island arts and crafts from Hawaiian quilts, woodcarvings, holiday ornaments, jewelry, clothing and Kona Coffee. The event also includes live entertainment, food booths, silent auction and a canned good sculpture contest.
Travelers spend an “Evening Under the Stars at Waiulua Bay” on Nov. 21, Dec. 12 and Dec. 26, during a casual evening of entertainment and traditional Hawaiian holiday storytelling. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, beach chairs or beach mats to the Palace Garden.
Activities for the kids are endless from pictures with Santa every Friday, Saturday and Sunday Dec. 4 – 20, Breakfast with Santa featuring a life-size gingerbread house display made by the hotel chefs at Waikoloa Candy Lane (Convention Center) every Saturday Nov. 28 – Dec. 19 and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas Story Book Reading Hour in the Grand Promenade on Dec. 24.

Parents can also surprise their little ones on Christmas Eve, December 24, with a “Santa Tuck-In” including a personal in-room visit and treats from Santa or Mrs. Clause. A special New Year’s Eve Blue Moon Keiki Carnival including contests, games and a mini carnival allows parents to choose from a full night program or a half night program. Each program includes dinner, dessert and snacks.
For the teens traveling to the Big Island during the holidays, Hilton Waikoloa Village is holding a New Year’s Eve Blue Moon Teen Lava Lounge in the Kona 4 Ballroom. The evening includes dinner, karaoke, games and dancing for $65.00 per attendee.
For the first time in 28 years, New Year’s Eve falls on a Blue Moon and Hilton Waikoloa Village is hosting a Blue Moon New Year’s Eve Party in Kamehameha Court with live entertainment from the Tiki Dolls, party favors, snacks available for purchase, Blue Hawaiian cocktail specials and a live New Year’s Eve countdown and celebration.
For visitors who wish for a more relaxed New Year’s Eve celebration or would like to bring the kids, New Year’s Eve at the Malolo Lounge includes live music, party favors, champagne and drink specials. Admission is free.
Hilton Waikoloa Village rings in the holidays with multiple options for holiday dinners from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day. KPC and Imari offer prix fixe and a la carte menus on Thanksgiving day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, while Water’s Edge features a traditional holiday cuisine buffet. From Nov. 28 – Dec. 19 families can also enjoy Breakfast with Santa at Waikoloa Candy Lane (Convention Center).
