Having residency status in Arizona this time of year definitely has its perks in terms of golf.

The Boulders Resort and Golden Door Spa, with golf courses consistently ranked among the best in the country, is offering superior summer golf programs and golf rates exclusively to Arizona residents. From May 25 through September 6, local residents can take advantage of special summer golf rates of just $75, compared to $285 during peak season.

One particular package hat caught my eye is the Boulder’s Twilight Twosome, a new Happy Hour golf program designed specifically for couples.  When golfers tee off at twilight (after 4pm) to play nine holes of golf, they are treated to complimentary margaritas, instruction, a welcome gift and golf at one of the country’s top 10 best golf courses. Summer Twilight Twosome golf is offered May 25-September 6, 2009 for $129.  

In addition to packaged offerings, the Boulders Golf Academy is also inviting Arizona residents to take advantage of The Boulders Golf Academy offered exclusively to residents. The academy includes:

• 3 hours of personalized instruction with Donald Crawley, PGA, TOP 100 Teacher in America (by Golf Magazine), twice PGA Teacher of the Year (Southwest Section PGA), and Best Teachers in State of Arizona (by Golf Digest), or executive teaching staff.
• Digital video analysis of the student’s golf swing.
• Diagnosis and correction of student’s full swing.
• Short game instruction in the ‘Chitch’ shot – a hybrid chip/pitch combination featured in Golf Magazine.
• Personalized lessons from the Golf Simplified teaching system, which is designed to work with and improve the student’s existing skills, rather than “reinventing the wheel.”
• 18 holes of golf with a cart at one of The Boulders award-winning golf courses, featuring bent grass greens and the best putting surfaces in Arizona.

The Boulders Golf Academy is open to a minimum of two players and a maximum of four. Single players are welcome. The rate is $199 per person, $169 for juniors (17 years and younger), and $179 per person for a foursome.
