The Spa at Encore is Like Heaven on Earth

The Spa at Encore is what I think heaven would look like. Designed by Todd-Avery Lenahan, the 61,000-sq.-ft. retreat covers the entire floor above the casino, allowing for super-spacious relaxation rooms, dressing areas and wet area.

The opulent lobby area sets the stage for the luxury experience that lies ahead for all spa guests. As soon as one leaves the elevator and enters the check-in lobby, they are greeted with a soaring vaulted ceilings, and a mix of antique-styled salon furniture, Moroccan-styled lanterns and Grecian-styled sculptures. It’s a photo op, for sure.
Once checked in, guests are escorted through a relaxation lounge area and into the guts of the spa where decadent changing areas, lavish showers and all the spa goodies await. Both French and Asian influences are evident in the posh wallpapers and drapery in the change areas and relaxation room. Past a large sauna and large steam room, the wet area with hot and cold plunges is a nice spot to relax pre- or post-treatment.

Despite the details on every inch of the spa area, what really takes one’s breath away is entering the treatment room area, where a soothing corridor of oversized lanterns, and vases lead to a golden Buddha. The 37 treatment rooms are located in this serene and almost spiritual space. If you can’t relax and feel at peace here, you can’t anywhere.
I signed up for the spa’s signature treatment, the 80-minute Good Luck Ritual, which involves 50 minutes of soothing massage, then a face and scalp massage and a foot and hand exfoliation treatment. It’s heavenly. And it’s a great choice for those who like a little bit of everything. Your mind is completely relaxed within minutes of hitting the massage table, and the body stays stress-free long after the service is over.
The Good Luck Ritual cost $250 and is well worth it, as guests have full day entry to the fitness area, and all of the spa service, which can easily entertain anyone for hours before or after the Good Luck Ritual is over.
If you forgot to get your nails done before your flight or fee like getting you hair blown out for a special dinner, just head to the Salon, just outside the spa area.
