Tesla Motors Reveals the Model S

The Model S, the much-anticipated second offering from Tesla Motors, the manufactures of strictly electric vehicles, was revealed on Thursday. The Model S extends Tesla’s product line, which also includes the Tesla Roadster, a pure electric sports car that runs for 244 miles per charge and boasts a $109,000 price tag.
Telsa’s newest sedan Model S, however, is slightly more affordable to upper-middle class consumers at $49,900, which reflects a $7,500 government tax break for emissions-free vehicles. The seven seater sedan is said to traverse a 300-mile range on a super efficient 45-minute fast-charge removable battery. It is also capable of reaching 0 to 60 in 5.5 seconds and features two LCD touch screens (one showing the car’s mechanisms and the other as the central dashboard control).
Once beginning production, the Model S should be ready for retail by mid-2011 and the company hopes to move 20,000 units of inventory by mid-2012. But enough of my rambling, take a gander below… isn’t it exquisite?
