Red Sky Golf Club

There are few places in the world, where the sheer majesty of an encircling mountain range leaves you mesmerized. Red Sky Golf Club is one of those places. The club features two courses, both a Fazio and a Norman design, which sneak through forests of quaking aspen and offer a variety of shot values. I played the Norman course in late September and let me tell you that fall in Vail is the primo time to tee up. Not a cloud in the sky stole so much as a fragment of sunshine, which allowed us to see clearly for miles from anywhere on the course. The temperatures, though a little cool in the morning, heat up around 9:30 a.m. and stay moderate for the remainder of the day. A contrast to summers spent golfing in tropical or desert climates; Vail takes no part in humidity, bugs, or sweltering hot temps. Just my kind of conditions. Blessed be the day I get to go back and play the Fazio.
