Lake Tahoe Golf Courses are seriously stepping up to the plate. I don’t typically do two posts in one week about a particular destination—see my post on another Lake Tahoe golf deal here—but I just learned of a stellar promotion that I can’t hold back.

We all know summers in Lake Tahoe are heavenly; warm days, cool nights, low humidity, mountain air—ahhhh,  I’m ready to depart for Nor Cal as I write. However, it can be a bit pricey to plan a Lake Tahoe golf excursion since many of the costly, albeit gorgeous tees, boast green fees in the triple digits. So after a round on one of Tahoe’s many world-renown tees, why not ease your golfing soul (and bank account) with a little relaxed golf…for free? You read that right. Gratis. Nada. Tee up for zilch. But how can it be possible you ask? You can thank the state of the economy.

The Incline Village General Improvement District recently announced a promotion directed at motivating avid golfers and those new to the links to tee up for free after 5 o’clock on Incline Village’s two courses. The tremendous deal aims to relieve the financial stress associated with the leisure sport, while also attracting newcomers to the joys of the game. Both residents and non-residents can walk on the Championship Course on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays and the Mountain Course on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Patrons who take advantage of the special can essentially get in as many holes as they can before dusk.

To put into perspective how cost-effective the promotion is, the Championship course typically commands $175 green fees during the peak of summer and the Mountain course ranges from $44 to $71.

Taking advantage of free golf will certainly enhance any Lake Tahoe golf vacation while leaving you under budget.  Under par, however,  is another story. . .
