Nothing says “Fall” or “Holiday” like the rustling leaves and cool breezes of Napa in the late fall. Start planning your trip to Napa now, so you dont miss out. Today and tomorrow I will list some fun family ideas for spending some time (and enjoying some wine) in Napa this upcoming season:

THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS AT MEADOWOOD NAPA VALLEY:

The Twelve Days of Christmas is a Meadowood Napa Valley signature event celebrating wine, cuisine and the world’s great holiday traditions. Guests are invited to attend as twelve of the country’s most renowned chefs collaborate with twelve of The Napa Valley’s preeminent vintners to present holiday feasts on twelve December evenings in the heart of America’s premiere wine growing region. The event benefits Share Our Strength, a twenty-five year old non-profit working to make sure no child in America grows up hungry. For more details visit http://www.meadowood.com.

CALISTOGA’S LIGHTS, MUSIC & RELAXATION

Calistoga Lighted Tractor Parade: The first Saturday in December marks Calistoga’s renowned Christmas celebration, which boasts more than 100 entries every year. During this free-to-the-public event, local farm equipment and other motorized vehicles (including motorcycles, tractors and more) are decorated with lights, elves, trees and reindeer as they parade through town. Local merchants stay open late for holiday shopping and offer spiced cider, Christmas cookies and other sweet treats. For more information visit http://www.CalistogaVisitors.com

3rd Annual Downtown Jazz and Blues Festival: Lincoln Avenue is alive with music beginning the first Saturday in November and Calistoga visitors will enjoy a number of musical groups performing at various venues throughout town, including bars, restaurants, bed and breakfasts, retail shops, public spaces and parks. Local wineries also offer wine pours and/or food tastings as part of the Festival’s activities. For more information visit http://www.CalistogaVisitors.com
