Phoenix Open: Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost

In honor and appreciation of the men and women who actively serve and have served the United States of America in the Armed Forces, Waste Management Phoenix Open tournament host’s the Thunderbirds will open a new venue exclusively for these military heroes at the 2013 tournament, called the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost.

In addition to opening the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost, the Thunderbirds also invite all active, reserve and military retirees and one accompanied guest to be their guests, free of charge, every day at the 2013 Waste Management Phoenix Open. The tournament will again allow children 17 and under into the tournament free of charge, when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

To take advantage of the free admission offer:

  • Eligible personnel must present their official military ID or badge at any ticket booth at the main tournament entrance.
  • Business cards and pay stubs will not be accepted as forms of ID.
  • Tickets are limited to two per day, per each official military ID.
  • Standard tournament spectator policies will be in enforced, including no firearms allowed.

Once in the tournament, all active, reserve and military retirees and their guests are invited to visit the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost. Located near the 18th tee box, the Patriots’ Outpost will be a comfortable place for our heroes and their guests to relax, grab a bite to eat and enjoy a cold or warm beverage (free of charge) while at the WM Phoenix Open.

To help keep the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost exclusively for military heroes, official military IDs will again need to be shown to gain access to the Patriots’ Outpost. Sponsored by PRO EM Party and Event Rentals, Michael’s Catering, Shamrock Foods and T&B Equipment, the Patriots’ Outpost promises to be a fun and worthy addition to the 2013 Waste Management Phoenix Open. The Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost will be open Wednesday, January 30th – Sunday, February 3rd.

This is the 12th year the Thunderbirds have extended this free admission offer to military personnel and the first year for the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost.

The Waste Management Phoenix Open will be played January 28 – February 3, 2013, at the TPC Scottsdale. The tournament host Thunderbirds have raised more than $80 million for charities, with more than $50 million generated since 2004. The 2013 edition will mark the 78th playing of the event, making it one of the five oldest events on the PGA TOUR (not including the major championships).
