rs-scottsdale-2016-1203With a little over a week to go before the auto auction season kicks in, Russo and Steele, Best Automobile Auction winner in Arizona Foothills 2017 Best of Our Valley readers poll, prepares to move to their new home: Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. Specializing in European sports cars, American muscle, hot rods and customs, Russo and Steele will keep its popular auction in the round format over five days, January 18 to 22, with more than 800 vehicles crossing the block.

116Russo and Steele has a reputation for excitement on the auction block, and this year’s featured vehicles will not disappoint. A new classic, the Ford GT40 concept car, was designed to celebrate Ford’s centennial. Inspired by the GT40s that dominated LeMans through the late 1960s, this new generation CP-1 prototype was the first fully functional prototype, built in 2003 in the development phase for the new GT. It was the first of the new generation GTs to be equipped with an engine, drivetrain, and full interior, and bears VIN 004. Autographs of the 13 members of the design and development team, adorn the vehicle as well.

8419rFor fans of classic muscle, a 1971 Hemi Challenger with just 64,000 original miles will draw interest. It is just one of six surviving examples with black exterior, and is the only one with the original factory finish. Hemis are always of interest, but adding to this Challenger’s desirability is the factory black-on-black design, rare four-speed manual transmission and a solid known history.

The field also includes a wide selection of the best names in collector cars: Camaros, Corvettes, Porsches, Mercedes, Shelby, Jaguar, Ferrari – the finest examples from across the decades, with the most desirable collector features. Come out and see why Russo and Steele was named Best of Our Valley for 2017.
