Spend the evening in Old Town Scottsdale enjoying the arts during the weekly Thursday night Scottsdale Art walk. Join owner and artist, Cyndy Carstens at Carstens Fine Art Studio & Gallery for her latest April exhibition "Atmospheric Conditions" from 6:30pm-9:30pm.

The exhibition explores the theme of "Atmospheric Conditions" involving color and refractive light. Carstens will be doing a painting demonstration on a small canvas and will discuss her process and work. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the artist and enjoy light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres accompanied by live music performed by harpist Jocelyn Obermeyer in the gallery.

Cyndy Carstens creates amazing oil paintings exploring expansive spaces, moments of stillness and faith while reinventing portrayals of the southwestern landscape. Carstens uses a broad spectrum of colors blending realism and abstraction, resulting in beautiful and meditative artworks. Her paintings “bring one to focus and reflect on an awareness of ethereal atmospheres and intimate details of nature”, states Carstens.

As of this month, Carstens was thrilled to share that “my work has now been purchased by individuals in all 50 states and 7 countries, which is really wonderful.” She has had the opportunity to exhibit her work extensively across the country, most recently being invited to exhibit her latest painting "Sea of Skies" at the National Weather Center Biennale exhibition in Norman Oklahoma, which focuses on atmosphere and climate change, juried by the renown Joe Goode.
