Its time to get out and enjoy the local arts with the beautiful fall weather finally arriving and the arts season revving up across the valley!

The next several months are filled with great exhibitions at local galleries and museums, film festivals, not to mention concerts, dance performances, plays and more. We will be covering the latest events, exhibitions, and highlighting some of our valley’s local artists! Here is a quick round up to get you started….

Recently the ASU Art Museum kicked off several new exciting exhibitions offering an incredible selection of multi-media artwork. The exhibitions include Margarita Cabrera: Space Between-Arizona, Energy Charge: Connecting to Ana Mendieta, Encounter: Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all, and The Brandywine Workshop Collection. Tempe Center for the Arts who’s kicking off their season this Friday, September 30th with TCA Juried Biennial CLAY. Reflecting the tradition of giving clay on the 9th wedding anniversary. This exhibition will feature 21 juried artists from around the valley that were selected by a distinguished jury panel including Patsy Cox, Peter Held, Garth Johnson and Aaron Thacker. Mesa Contemporary Art Museum welcomed four wonderful new exhibitions September 9th with a massive celebration highlighting art, music, performances and more. Featuring diverse and engaging artists from around the globe in four new shows including Off the Page, Disillusioned, Paradise Lot and Worldwide Wanderings. SMoCA will celebrate the opening of it’s Autumn Season on Friday, October 14th with two new exhibitions including Push Comes to Shove: Women and Power collaboration between SMoCA and ASU Intermedia Professor Muriel Magenta, Ph.D., “aims to use art as a critical catalyst in rethinking and transforming the advancement of women”. The Architecture + Art: Everything Falls into Place When It Collapses series with Santiago Borja examining archaeologic landmark of the Southwest mark its return. Be sure to check out the weekly Thursday night Scottsdale ArtWalk from 6:30-9:30pm, enjoy the galleries, museums, local shops, excellent bars and restaurants that Old Town Scottsdale has to offer. Must see exhibitions happening at Gebert Contemporary, Carstens Fine Art Gallery & Studio, Gallery Andrea and Tilt Gallery! The Scottsdale Gallery Association in partnership with the City of Scottsdale hosts the ArtWalk, located along Main Street and Marshall Way in Scottsdale.
