Good, Bad & Ugly Fall Accessories

Maybe it’s the fact that yesterday didn’t reach 115 degrees or maybe the idea that Fall (for the rest of the country anyway) is just around the corner. It’s nearly an impossible task to be planning fall shoots and merchandise pulls when I can barely muster the strength to put on anything that resembles a real pair of shoes in this heat but what kind of blogger/fashion editor would I be if I kept all this pre-fall goodness to myself.

So after combing the web for some good juicy tid bits I have found what I think are some of the best, good, bad, and ugly fall accessories….actually truth be told, the bad and the ugly are one in the same in this case.

On the good side, I came across what may prove to be the one brand of head turning shoes to give those red bottomed soles a run for their money. Now mind you these are not for the wallflower and maybe not even for someone who fears heights but Suecomma Bonnie’s fall collection of shoes will knock your socks off! The Korean designers collection called Rebellious Love is chock full of stilt like heels in gorgeous textures and fabrics and here’s the best part…most are in the $300 range unlike other brands that skim the $600 plus mark. suecommabonnie.com

I know for most people buying a coat right now is at the bottom of their wish list but these amazing coats and bags from Ten Over Six Boutique are put me over the moon gorgeous . The coats are one part mad men- one part 60’s AnoukAimee film… to coin a Rachel Zoe-ism they are bananas! Though the line isn’t on the web site yet there is no shortage of amazing finds at shop.tenover6.com

So now for a couple of my least favorite things for fall… all due respect to the amazing designers who created them, but I wonder, if a tall , thin extraordinary looking model doesn’t quite make these work, I doubt anyone will.

Blobby fur handbags – Apologies to Roger Vivier who generally creates gorgeous pieces but in this case I can hear the sesame street jokes already… if you want wear a fur coat, ear muffs, hat or gloves please by all means…but when it comes to superfluous fur balls like this, please skip this trend.

Kitten Heels-Despite falling flat last year designers like Prada and are trying to revive the kitten heel. On the one hand kitten heels are definitely a healthier option for your back and feet than the skyscraper variety, but I would rather wear flats than have someone confuse my shoe collection with that of my 78 year old Mom. (love you Mom!)
