Effortless British Style- Topshop For Nordstrom

And then there was Topshop at Nordstrom. What a way to start a post, I know, but I really couldn’t think of any better way to start writing about something so amazing. Yes I’ve seen the instagrams and twitpics that seem to be flooding my feeds, but with the frenzy of fashion week(s) and well the rest of my life I some how forgot to be excited about this… that is until right now!

Before I get ahead of myself let’s talk a bit about what Topshop is exactly (just in case you don’t already know). Started in 1964 the high street brand now has over 300 stores in the UK and ship to over 100 countries. Like many of our other favorite places to shop Topshop has collaborated with major talent including Christopher Kane and Kate Moss. Not only that, but they even show at London Fashion Week!

$120

Their style aesthetic is all about mixing up styles and breaking all the rules, from basics to the season’s hottest trends to premium fabrics they really have it all. Oh and by the way their tagline includes the words “effortless British style,” surely a dream come true.

Now that we know what all the craze is about (effortless British style) here are my top picks from Topshop at Nordstrom.

Until recently I had never been into the whole leather jacket thing, but now I can’t help but try one on every time I see one. What is great about Topshop’s versions is a) they are animal friendly, as in faux, b) incredibly affordable, and c) way cool. Honestly I couldn’t decide which one I liked better… so why not snag both, right?

$150

And then because Topshop is truly about breaking all the rules I want to pair this feminine silk dress with one of those androgynous jackets. A vintage-inspired ivory dress is always a good piece to have in your wardrobe as you can wear it for almost any occasion.

$60

These gold metallic jacquard shorts are on trend. Though the temperatures are soon to cool down, think opaque tights in an array of rich colors like berry, emerald, and sapphire. Oh, and don’t forget the booties!

$80

It seems that all the cool people (models, celebs, street stylistas) are wearing sweaters with French words on them or any words for that matter. This Garcon (boy) sweater would look adorable with a skirt or with your favorite pair of jeans.

$90

I could have probably listed just about every item from the Topshop at Nordstrom collection, but I decided to end with this navy peplum jacket because in my mind navy is the quintessential British color and I love a peplum anything.

Have you shopped the Topshop section at your nearest Nordstrom yet? What are your favorite pieces?
