White Out

Sometimes a single look can take over a season and this season that is Louis Vuitton’s laser cut dress. The look has been seen on celebrities and models everywhere. The little white dress is obviously versatile, being styled as everything from princess perfect to not-so-good-girl edgy.

Though we are smitten with the dress here at Style Files, no girl wants to walk into a room to find some other stylish lady wearing the same dress. So we scoured the interwebs to find some more fabulous white dresses that your friends and frenemies alike will be coveting.

You’ll be a knockout in this form-fitting Emilio Pucci wool dress. The simple and sexy silhouette is set off with a dramatic shoulder ruffle. Take note of Nordstrom’s styling choices and opt for a sleek hair do… and if you are feeling extra saucy pair with a bold colored shoe.

What girl doesn’t want to wear her trench coat as a dress? Come on you know you’ve daydreamed about it. J. Crew has given you your chance with their Bateau Trench Dress. You can wear it simple with some great jewels or sport it with dark skinnies and wellies (perfect if you’re heading to London for the Olympics).

Ready to get a little body con? That extra time on the treadmill will be worth it once you slip on this Free People silk ruffled mini dress. A messy chignon or fishtail braid is the perfect accessory to this ultra-cool number.

If you’ve been invited to a fun-in-the-sun seaside party then this is the dress to impress. The stretchy cotton and lycra layered t-shirt dress is asking to be paired with beach friendly wedges and colorful jewelry. Make sure to practice perfecting your free flowing beach waves before the time comes! James Perse has done us all a wonderful favor.

Before you head out and buy your little white dress, here are a few tips that will make sure you pull off your white look without a hitch:

1. Make sure you are wearing appropriate undergarments! Stick with nude undergarments (they come in all types of shades so choose whichever one matches your skin the best).
2. Avoid red wine, red sauce, and unless you are extra secure… even red lips (yes your own).
3. Don’t look down! Okay you can look down but be sure your face doesn’t come in contact with the neckline or sleeves of your dress.
