This Week- NYC Fashion Week and Fashion’s Night Out

Ahhh another Labor Day behind us and the official end of summer…which of course makes no sense at all to anyone who lives in Arizona…but we can always pretend.
So this morning as I sit here pounding the keyboard I am contemplating whether to wear the first traces of my fall clothing or stick to my normal summer wares for today’s TV appearance on Sonoran Living. Perhaps I will just stick to the summer-ish clothes and leave the fall clothes for the first dip below 100 degrees…or perhaps the newest threads will appear for my upcoming trip to Seattle where I hear it’s fifty five degrees and rainy…hmm sounds refreshing!

In any case this week is there any other subject on the minds of fashionistas far and wide than New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011? Yes it’s here! (insert jumping for joy)

This week the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week shows kick off on Thursday September 9th with a bevy of designers and for you die hard fans the Project Runway Show happening at 10 am. This season though I am still trying to figure out if it’s a real snooze fest or if I actually do care… I mean whatever happened to the days of Santino and Austin? Wait, that another Lifetime series altogether isn’t is? Richard Chai, Ruffian and PJ alum Christian Siriano all take place that same day.

On Friday aside from shows like BCBG Max Azria, Edition Georges Chakra and Ports 1961 it’s all about Fashion’s Night Out. The biggest fashion party around the globe is back. Fashion’s Night Out was introduced to encourage and support full price shopping to help stimulate and drive the economy forward. Cities from New York to Los Angeles, Boston and Phoenix will be participating along with global partners in Asia, Australia, Italy, Russia and everywhere in between.

Check back often this week as there are more blogolicious bits to come about FNO’s local offerings so that you can map out your route and take to the streets for an evening of fun and fashion, I happen to know Neiman Marcus has lots of offerings in store and some of the Westcor stores at Kierland Commons are listed below. When you shop participating stores from 6p – 9p, you’ll enjoy appetizers, drinks, desserts, trunk shows, live music, exclusive discounts, raffle prizes and much more! And starting at 5pm, join participating restaurants for VIP prix fixe menus.

7 For All Mankind, Anthropologie, Banana Republic, BCBG, GUESS, LATHER,
Michael Kors, Ruby Boutique, Victoria’s Secret, White House Black Market, The Greene House, Morton’s The Steakhouse and many more listed at westcor.com

Here’s to a week a fashion and frolic!
