Posh Parties, High Fashion

I am so excited that party season is now in full swing because it comes with a whole lot of celebrity and fashion eye candy. Men and women dressed to the nines, attending swanky invite only parties with their posh friends—what a life. Though most of us haven’t quite made the VIP list (yet) we still get a glimpse into these high profile parties thanks to our favorite magazines and photogs.

Everything about these parties is awe-inspiring, but here at AFM Style Files we are mostly concerned with who was there and more importantly what were they wearing? So here is my list of best-dressed celebs and fashion people at this week’s parties.

Anne Hathaway rarely disappoints me, perhaps it is her celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe or maybe it is her sheer beauty. Either way Anne looked gorgeous in this flesh-colored, sparkling Valentino knee-length dress. The embellishment was simply royal and a perfect choice for her role as presenter at the annual Princess Grace Awards Gala. Though often praised for her impeccable style Anne reciprocated, telling the crowd, “I just have to say that everyone looks really great tonight,” she said. “I know it’s the Princess Grace Awards so everyone put a little something extra into it.”

Jessica Biel seems to have gotten over her break up with pop star-turned-actor boyfriend Justin Timberlake and has apparently become a serious fashionista over night. She looked stunning in an eggshell white Giambattista Valli couture dress at the Fashion Group International’s 28th Annual Night of Stars. Not many people can pull off these voluminous layered shoulders, but Biel had no problem pulling it off. The gold leaf belt and stacked diamond bracelets were perfect complements.

I would say the Night of Stars wins my overall vote for best dressed party goers this season thus far… I mean Chloe Malle and Lauren Remington Platt of Vogue look like they could be part of a magazine editorial.

Celebrities are loving the lace trend just as much as we are—and especially black lace. Wendi Murdoch, wife of Rupert Murdoch, sported this daring green dress with black lace overlay at An Evening With Ralph Lauren. I will admit that the look is a little out there, but at the same time it is kind of sexy-goth. Anyway it suits her well and she looks good in it!

Solange Knowles, sister of famed songstress Beyonce Knowles, wore this year’s tribal theme from head-to-toe at Burberry Body’s L.A. launch. I really love everything about this look from the colors to the mixing of pattern and texture—and yet so simple. Just gorgeous!
