Mitchell Binder of King Baby Studios and Queen Baby Personal Appearance

One of the things I love most about my job is I’ve had the opportunity to meet and interview some amazing movers and shakers in the fashion and beauty industry. I’ve met David Yurman, Laura Mercier, Christian Louboutin, Ralph Rucci and many others in between as well. What’s most interesting to me, and the common thread they, and anyone who is truly successful holds, is their passion, excitement and devotion to what it is they do. It’s inspiring and a feeling that is totally contagious when you’re in the presence of someone like this, whether they are just starting their career or at the top of their game.

This Friday, Neiman Marcus and Stone Rose Lounge have partnered together for a meet and greet and trunk show with jewelry designer Mitchell Binder. Binder is known for his two jewelry lines, King Baby Studios (for men) and Queen Baby (for women). The gothic pieces are made of sterling silver and also integrate precious stones and leather. They channel a truly Rock ‘n’ Roll feel in the form of crossbones, skulls and other goth looks in the form of pendants, belt buckles, bracelets, cufflinks and necklaces. The items are absolutely unique and though not for everyone, definitely something to check out.

Mitchell Binder will be at Stone Rose Lounge on Friday, May 29th, starting at 9pm for a personal appearance and trunk show. The Rock ‘n’ Roll themed party will include entertainment by DJ Soulman and scintillating cocktails.

Like many designers I’ve met with before, Binder’s passion for design started early, dabbling in jewelry design when he was just 15, taking his first job as a jewelery apprentice. He went on to study at Otis and Parsons School of Design and launched his first business venture, Artwear Concepts and Hardwear Designs in the 80’s and 90’s.

In 2000, King Baby Studios was born. The bold jewelry garnered quite the fan base quickly appearing in fashion, lifestyle and biker magazines and selling at fine boutiques.  The line reflects his personal passions for art and the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle as Binder himself is an avid biker.
