High-profile celebs such as Lady Gaga, Linda Evangelista and Penelope Cruz grace the many covers of Harper’s Bazaar’s September issue that will hit newsstands Aug. 19.
The covers and 17-page “icons” portfolio featured inside the issue was styled by Bazaar’s Global Fashion Director, Carine Roitfeld, who is the former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris and favorite street style star.
While Gaga is styled in a pink tweed Chanel ensemble (whose skirt Roitfeld personally cut shorter with the permission of Karl Lagerfeld), Evangelista is wrapped in knits from Comme des Garçons while Cruz is all glamour in a form-fitting black Dior dress with striking blue ribbons lacing up the sides.
“For all the icons, I used fishnets. Fishnets are like my link,” Roitfeld told WWD, noting variations of fishnet material used as tights, gloves or as part of dresses seen throughout the portfolio.
The series, which includes photos of other stars, like Brook Shields, Lauren Hutton, Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Stephanie Seymour and Iman, will appear in all 30 international editions of the magazine.
