Fab Fashion & Beauty Roundup

One of the best things about fashion is that it is always on the move: new trends, new designers, new shops, new…new…new. Which also leaves us fashion followers with a lot of NEWS to catch up on. Here are the things you needed to know this week.

Lauren Conrad launches an Eco-Friendly accessories line with Austin-based company Blue Avocado.

The line’s called xo(eco) and includes a little zip up pouch that unfolds into a huge shopper, a super convenient toiletry bag with detachable pouches, a travel bag specifically for curling and straightening irons, a “lunch case,” which I believe is a lunchbox for adults and other cute, functional things in tasteful colors and patterns. They’re all made out of a fabric called Repreve that’s made out of recycled bottles. Via Fashionista.com Considering her successes in the past (2 Reality TV shows, a clothing line, a beauty website, and several books) we are sure this project will follow suit.

Miss Black Swan herself has landed her second Dior campagn, which can only be described as “stunning,” okay maybe even “amazing.” Quite different from her barely-there Miss Dior Cherie campaign, the Mario Sorrenti photographed ready-to-wear campaign is said to be more Jackie O. No matter what description you give it, I think every fashionable woman wants to be the girl on top of the roof overlooking the city in the chicest fashion.

We talked about some amazing Olympic inspired fashion this week and the coverage continues as Opening Ceremony lands in London.

According to wwd.com:
The pop-up, which spans two levels, is packed with exclusive 2012 Olympic-themed ready-to-wear and accessories, such as the Proenza Schouler PS1 bag reworked in shiny gold, and Barton Perreira sunglasses in gold, silver or bronze. It also stocks the store’s best-selling capsule collections from days past, including colorful graphic Vans by Kenzo, animal-print ponyskin Keds and Opening Ceremony own-label cat sweaters, which have been reissued in new colors and in men’s sizes.

Ladies, get excited… the perfect red lipstick has arrived. Refinery29.com gives us the scoop on ‘Helmut Red.’
Created by the dream team of author Periel Aschenbrand, model Jenny Shimizu, and the Lipstick Queen herself, Poppy King, this bright, new, scarlet-hued lip color is called the “Helmut Red Lipstick.” The shade pays homage to the late photographer, Helmut Newton, so you know this blue-based red is the ultimate choice for creating a pout worthy of one of his strong and seductive images.

Released in collaboration with House of Exposure, the online art concept store, this lippy has some serious creative intellect behind it for sure. Even more good news? Part of the proceeds from the shade go to the Bantwana Initiative, which supports children in countries that have a high risk of HIV.
