Chanel Opens Pop-Up Shop in Aspen

Chanel has opened up a pop-up shop in Aspen, Colo. featuring its Métiers d’Art Paris-Dallas pre-fall collection that was originally showcased in Dallas last December.

Calling it an “ephemeral boutique,” Chanel chose the second floor of the gorgeous mountainside Casa Tua restaurant and private club to host the temporary collection.

The Wild West-themed collection originally garnered a negative response for its misappropriation of Native American dress through the likes of native prints and feathered headdresses.

Décor within the 1,850-square-foot boutique bolsters the Western feel. A bright red Texas star greets customers, while vintage images of cowboys bedeck the walls.

In true Chanel fashion, the house flew select VIP clients and members of the fashion set (think Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis, Laura Love and Harley Viera-Newton) to Aspen for a private opening celebration dinner at the Casa last Thursday.

The Chanel pop-up shop in Aspen is open now through July 6.
