2 Ways To Glam Up Your Holiday Look.

So I didn’t exactly get the Christmas cards out as planned, but gifts have all been delivered and or exchanged wrapped with pretty ribbon and darling tags personalized for each recipient. So today it’s all about enjoying a little peppermint hot chocolate and finishing up a bit of business before I join family later for a big Italian feast. Christmas Eve would not be complete without a buffet table celebrating the traditional feast of 7 fishes. Unfortunately half of my family despises fish so this year my Mom had conceded to offering only three out of seven. And a customary rum soaked cake at the end of the evening of course. I am getting drunk just thinking about it!

So, if you are getting together tonight and tomorrow to celebrate why not pull out all the stops and add a little glam to your normal routine. Here are some pretty looks that work for just about everyone and they couldn’t be easier to emulate.

I just adore this soft side pony look paired with a classic and sexy red lip on Kate Bosworth.

Start by curling hair in one inch sections with a medium curling iron. Once cooled shake curls to loosen and secure in a low side pony tail with an elastic band. Wrap the band with a section of hair to finish the look. Be sure to leave a few strands loose around the face for a more romantic feeling.
For makeup: Keep the rest of the face clean and simple with foundation, a neutral blush, groomed brows a little black liner along the lash line and mascara. On lips choose a clear deep red tone for the most impact.

This style works well on unwashed hair or hair that has a bit of product or grooming cream added for texture. Lightly tease the crown of the hair and smooth to soften. Pull hair back into a low pony and twist into a bun. Secure with bobby pins and pin or spray hair in the crown to secure it back.
For makeup: Line eyes top and bottom along the lashline with black or dark brown liner. Blend with a small makeup brush, then add a shimmery shadow in brown, burgundy or pewter, blend well, then line the inner rims of the eyes with black or brown liner. Keep the rest of the face soft and chic with a clear pink blush and lipstick.
