UMOM New Day Centers Read To Me Block Party

An estimated 90 children from UMOM paired up with volunteers for a time of reading. Children earned tickets for reading books, redeemable for prizes at the fair. The fair included activities for the children and their families including face painting, Read to Me Idol (karaoke station), back to school supply giveaways, ice cream, Phoenix Fire Department truck tours, back pack distribution, Bashas’ goodie bag distribution, and a water balloon toss and games. In celebration of back to school traditions, the mission of the Read to Me block party is to promote literacy and the importance of staying in school.
