CORONADO CAFE IN PHOENIX IS OLD NEWS, BUT GOOD EATS.

Looking back through the AFM archives, it’s difficult to find an incredible Valley eatery that we haven’t covered recently, and in some cases, sung the joys of repeatedly. Disappointment looms some months as I select a restaurant to feature only to find that a previous writer got there first, sinking a fork into my oh-so-appetizing idea.
This month’s featured restaurant, however, is the exception to that pattern. A tasty exception at that. “How long has this been here?” I thought as I stumbled upon the venue at an evening meeting with a colleague and experienced what I can only describe as the best dinner I had had in months (Bing cherry barbecue chicken sided by fork-mashed potatoes and an array of summer squashes). The answer to my query: 10 years or more, making this a belated, but well-deserved mention of admittedly not-so-new table territory.
