Style Substance Sophistication

“I was sitting in a cube wondering what I was doing with my life,” Yellen says. “I decided to get out of Ohio and come out to Arizona.”

Growing up in Cleveland, Yellen picked up extra cash in the summers by caddying at his local club and got into the game with support from the club’s head golf pro.

“Charlie Wood, the head pro at Mayfield Country Club, is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my life,” Yellen says. “He would hook up the caddies with clubs, and he really encouraged us to play the game.”

Yellen cites the group camaraderie with the 49 other Whisper Rock caddies as one of the greatest aspects of the gig.

“We’re a pretty tight unit; we go out all the time and it’s really like a second college experience,” Yellen says. “I feel like I’m in a fraternity there.”
