Aside from his love of the outdoors, fixing ball marks, repairing divots and providing yardages, Lurkins says his favorite aspect of the job is ensuring that clients have a memorable experience.

“A majority of the players are coming out on vacation and playing golf, so they’re already on Cloud 9,” Lurkins says. “When they step out on the golf course, my job is to keep them on Cloud 9. And that’s pretty fun.”

David Yellen began doodling and drafting comic strips at the age of 5. By 13, he had his first comic published. Today, the 29-year-old Whisper Rock caddie divides his time between cranking out the funnies and helping golfers chart their journey around Whisper Rock’s exclusive tracks.

Yellen decided to become a caddie after some serious soul searching at his desk job with an automotive accessories dealer.
