Meet the Caddies

So, you want to know the distance to the pin?
We scoured our favorite Valley golf clubs in search of some of the most unique caddies we could find. Our goal: to get away from the world of divot repairing and putt reading and learn what makes them tick on and off the course. Walk 18 holes with these fine caddies, and you’ll wonder how you ever played without them. 
 
When ASU alum Josh Lurkins graduated with a degree in physical education, his focus was on teaching in the arenas of health, anatomy and gym. Nowadays, Lurkins is getting physical in a whole new way as a caddie navigating the fairways at TPC Scottsdale.
 
The 34-year-old Tempe resident says teaching at a Phoenix charter high school for at-risk youth helped develop his ability to provide guidance to clients on the course.
